Tom Beckett General Amazing tha 40 years after the line's demise, this overpass is still in place. You'd think that 1) the LV estate would want whatever proceeds to be had from the sale of the steel, and 2) NYSDOT would want the unused bridge removed for safety and clearance reasons. Some states-New Jersey is one-require abandoned bridges to be removed. This one has easy access too-all you need to remove it is a couple of cranes that can be driven to the site. It's not like someone has to blaze a trail to a place with difficult access. 6/12/2015 1:39:39 AM
Dave Korhammer General Interesting. Speaking of NJ (my state) there is an abandoned RR overpass near my home that hasn't been used since 1973! It must cost too much to dismantle it... 7/8/2015 6:14:21 PM
